Cookies Policy
Last Updated: May 1, 2026
This Cookies Policy explains how Professional Healthcare Labs, Inc. (“PHL”) uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on the website at phl.health. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember your actions and preferences over a period of time, so you don’t have to re-enter them every time you return.
2. Cookies we use
Strictly necessary (always on)
- phl_session — keeps you logged in. Expires when you close your browser.
- phl_cart — remembers the tests in your cart. 30-day expiry.
- phl_csrf — protects against cross-site request forgery on form submissions.
Functional
- phl_locale — remembers your language and unit preferences.
- phl_ux — remembers UI choices (e.g. dismissed announcement bar). 90-day expiry.
Analytics (opt-in)
- _ga / _ga_* — Google Analytics, used to understand aggregate site usage. We do not enable user-id stitching, advertising-id stitching or ad personalisation.
Marketing
PHL does not use third-party marketing or retargeting cookies. We do not allow third-party advertising networks to track PHL visitors.
3. Why we use cookies
- Keep you authenticated across pages without re-typing your password.
- Hold cart items until you complete checkout.
- Detect fraud and protect against automated abuse.
- Measure how the site performs so we can improve it.
4. Managing cookies
You can accept, reject or selectively enable cookies on the cookie banner that appears on your first visit. You can also disable cookies entirely in your browser settings — note that strictly-necessary cookies are required to log in or place a booking, so the Service will not function fully without them.
Helpful browser guides: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge.
5. Do Not Track
We honour the “Global Privacy Control” (GPC) signal sent by your browser. If GPC is enabled we automatically disable analytics cookies and treat your visit as opted-out for any purpose beyond strictly-necessary functions.
6. Updates
We may update this Policy from time to time as we change the cookies we use. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
